The leather mystique

Do you find you like how men look in leather?   Do you like the leather image?   Do you sense something masculine when you see guys in leather?

The gay leather scene is just that.  Men who favor to be with men who respect and appreciate masculinity, and that strong sense of "maleness" that the Levi / Leather scene embodies.

If you are new to the gay leather scene, or have been around it for awhile but have not gotten involved with men who are in the leather community, but would like to, perhaps its time you consider moving in that direction.

If you are not a member of Levi / Leather club, than start thinking about the advantages of joining one.  Whether you want to move into the leather lifestyle or simply hang with those who are,  there is a Levi / Leather club that can accommodate you where you are now.

Moving into Leather -- what to do

First, meeting leather guys is imperative.  You need to get to know someone who is anchored in a  leather club.  Generally, he is someone you have seen around and always has a masculine look to him, usually wearing some leather, even if its just boots and a belt with a black T-shirt.   There's a certain look to leather guys.  If you don't frequent a levi / leather bar, than you need to start going to one or where leather folk hang out.

But the best, and fastest way, to meet men in the leather community is on a "RUN".    A "RUN" is the leather community's version of a weekend retreat.   The term "RUN" comes from motorcycle clubs making a bike "run" to another town.  The gay leather scene was founded from the motorcycle club community which is where gay men could hang with and meet other masculine guys before gay clubs were openly established.   An excellent source of information about the leather lifestyle and how it started and what it means, is a book called: "Ties that Bind" by Guy Baldwin.  It's a quick read and provides good foundational insight to the gay male leather scene.  There are some other good books on the subject that are readily available -- just write and ask.

Second, after you meet and get to know one or more leathermen, you need to pursue that direction of interest by joining them at their events and functions.  Again, a leather RUN is perfect for this.  Each club usually sponsors charitable events during the year, often held at a club's home bar or around a holiday.  Leather clubs often hold fund raisers for the club itself or for a designated social purpose at a host bar.  These occur fairly frequent and are good times to meet guys who are into the leather club scene.  Club members should have their club colors (logo patch) on the back of their leather vest.  Talk to one about his club, he'll be pleased to tell you about it and what happens.

The leather club is a fellowship.  Club members are regarded as club brothers (and sisters if women are in the club) and the club works together for the betterment of the leather brotherhood, not for individual gain or promotion.   Of course, much of what clubs do is for pure social enjoyment of what its members like.  So, the club may be formed around a particular interest, or fetish, or it will have its own "culture."   Leather clubs differ as much as any other group or association differs within a larger context, but the spirit and camaraderie of gay men who have a keen affinity toward the leather scene ties us together.

MEN with MEN

The Pocono Warriors is an established club that prefers the company of men who favor masculine activities and engagements.  Consequently, it is in our constitution, as it always has been, that we are an all male club.   We respect and honor fellow leather clubs that incorporate women in their membership as well as those that enjoy social activities viewed as not "masculine" (drag shows).  It's just not our thing, and not our identity.  It is fine that we are not all alike, and that is exactly where investigation on your part is needed prior to finding the right club for you.  To start, though, you must meet the guys (and women perhaps) of leather clubs.

We invite you to get to know us, the Pocono Warriors.  Our history and "style" is briefly described on the club info page.   If our fellowship of leather brothers, and how we are organized, function and, of course... "play," appeals to you, please send me an email.   Write Me, and tell me you are interested, curious, or have questions about either the Warriors or the leather scene.  If you've been in the leather culture for awhile and have thought of joining a leather club, read below about Membership.

And, by all means, consider going on a RUN.  If you don't know which one to try first, as there are many and are all over the East Coast, write me.   I can help steer you to one.

Membership

We are recruiting for additional members, but we also want the "right" member -- a guy who wants to be with us for who and what we are.   We are not a big and highly active club, and we are not localized in one city.  We think that makes us unique and very accommodating to our members' busy lives.  Besides, we get to travel several times a year to another town for club functions and get away together --  not too much and not too little.  Read about membership and what characterizes our club, then decide for yourself if we look like the club for you.

Please consider this an invitation to join us at any of our club events -- come meet us, hang out and get to know us.   However, make sure to come on our RUN.  I assure you, if you are at all interested in the leather scene or lifestyle, you will truly enjoy this weekend event and the men you meet there.  After all, its called: "100 MEN in the Woods"

Write me by clicking on the envelope.

In leather brotherhood...

Kevin
